Session 4

Session 4
Task - what are British values
Fairness
Morals
Community spirit
Hardworking
Tolerance

New standards - Maintain high standards ethics behaviour in/out school - reflective task. Is your behaviour contradictory to this eg do you smoke, drink, promiscuity?

Task-
End of week, mentor of case study Shahnaze, what do you say?

"We're sorry you were not given enough notice, that was our fault, and we'll make sure that does not happen.
However, there will always be something that derails plans and you need to be flexible and accept and work with this.
Over planning is good practice, but it will mean not everything gets used.
Good planning not only has detail, but it considers options for extending lessons, or cutting them short as children will learn at different paces.
As a school we expect you to be involved in aspects beyond lessons, this means seeing the value in visits, or school clubs, they are not meant to be obstacles to learning, but an enhancement.
To help manage children's behaviour it can be appropriate to extend play, this will help lessons run smoothly.
Try and remember that you are obviously dedicated, but Is is about the children, not the teacher, if you keep that in mind it may help you feel better."
REFLECTION
I see the value of the response we came up with for Shahnaze, and believe it to be pretty fair, however as a student attempting to plan I find it a daunting laborious task made even harder by my procrastination towards it due to worrying about it, I totally understand the frustration of cut short plans.
